Jamaican newspaper The Gleaner has claimed that Barack Obama is favourite to win today’s election based on the Olympic 100m sprint.
Since 1976, a US men’s 100m champion has been followed by a Republican candidate winning the presidency. A winner born in the Caribbean, however, has precluded a victory for the Democratic candidate.
Although Usain Bolt’s gold does point to an Obama victory, this is obviously a load of cobblers.
What really fires our starting gun is the prospect of the two men actually racing, preferably down the Washington monument.
So, who would win if Team Donkey raced Team Elephant in a special 2 x 100m Relay race?
